Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, why it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use the website, you accept these privacy practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool passes directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or record those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

We retain an email message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers receive standard technical details when a page loads:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure how people use the website, including popular pages and exit points. Analytics providers combine that traffic data. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
  • Sending your search requests to the right partner service
  • Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
  • Tracking down and fixing technical issues
  • Showing ads that may line up with your interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site describes access to Kankakee County custodians, the Circuit Court, the Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification, and the Illinois Sex Offender Registry. Public dissemination of Illinois conviction information by ISP is governed by the Uniform Conviction Information Act, 20 ILCS 2635. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention rules, and sharing practices govern information submitted to them. Review a provider's policy before running a query because we do not control that processing.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to the Kankakee County Sheriff's Office, CourtView, Illinois agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.

Advertising providers may use their own systems to track activity across websites for targeted advertising.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, standard safeguards protect the data we collect. No internet system is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. We will delete such information after receiving a valid notice.

Your Data Rights

Illinois law may provide rights in addition to the choices below. The Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, governs records held by public bodies and does not convert this private site into a government record custodian. Public dissemination of conviction information through ISP is separately governed by the Uniform Conviction Information Act, 20 ILCS 2635. You may:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
